Description
This S32 Stratbass is medium scale and based on a combination of Strat/Tele and early Precision basses.
The body I used for this model was used, along with the pickguard neck plate and jack plate. Otherwise all other hardware and electronics are brand new. The neck is new but there are a few knot marks on the top edge of the fretboard. Nothing major but I’ve included a picture so you can see for yourself.
It is equipped with my Ultralite tuners (it has little or no neck dive) and 19mm bridge and has Retrovibe T-BOSS pickups with a 5-way pickup selector and standard Strat wiring giving a great range of tones.
It weighs in at around 6.2lbs, which means you can play for longer without tiring. Little or no neck dive with a textured strap but shiny nylon straps are not recommended.
It currently has nice low action which can easily be raised according to your taste. Strung with a brand new set of Ernie Ball Medium Scale strings. (45, 65, 85, 105)
It sounds like the love-child of a Precision and a Jazz with a surprisingly wide tonal range, making it a very useable bass. Please drop me a line at david@retrovibe.co.uk to discuss specifications for your build.
