Description
Keeping it simple AND effective!
This T30 bass is short scale and based on a combination of Telecaster and early Precision basses.
The bodies I use for this model are new.
The bolt-on maple neck has a maple fretboard with 20 medium frets and is finished in a natural satin.
It is equipped with my Ultralite tuners (it has little or no neck dive) and 18mm bridge and is fitted with my T-BOSS Telebass bridge pickup, VT controls with a 3-way selector wired in my bass-variant of the Telecaster Eldred wiring. When in the back position the volume and tone controls are in standard configuration. In the centre position the tone pot is bypassed. This reduces any bleed through the tone control when it is not in use. In the forward position a 1mf capacitor is switched into the circuit giving a dark tone, reminiscent of an early Precision bass. Some great and useable variations from a single pickup.
This bass has an alder body and weighs in at around 8.6lbs, which means you can play for longer without tiring.
It currently has a very low action which can easily be raised according to your taste. Strung with a brand new set of Ernie Ball short scale strings. (45, 65, 85, 105)
It sounds like the love-child of a Precision and a Jazz, making it a very useable bass.
