“With one foot in a Tennessee honkytonk, and another on the left bank of swing-era Paris, the Artful Badgers bring a joyous, century-spanning concoction of acoustic music to make you toe-tap the evening away. David Konig’s upright bass lays down a rockabilly-jazz groove for Sig Inger’s gypsy guitar pumping and Phil Beale’s classically-infused folk fiddle. The trio have played together since 2016, stepping away from local rock and pop covers bands to have some rootsy fun with classics and obscurities, ancient and modern. Don’t expect soul-searing introspection, do expect a delta-wide grin.”
