Direct replacement Retrovibe pickup for Rickenbacker basses.

SKU: RVNP Categories: ,

Description

Specially made to give a great sound with a true vintage look. They have pole pieces which do not protrude out of the back of the pickup which means they will fit easily in smaller cavities and are also suitable for surface mounting.

A perfect upgrade for your Ric bass!

The coil is available with a DC resistance of either 8 K or 12 K, and either 17.25mm or 16mm spacing

The 17.25mm pole spacing works best for mid or treble position

The 16mm pole spacing works best for neck position

Please check the most appropriate pole spacing for your bass

The outer casing measures 90mm x 37.6mm.
Inner pickup casing measures 72mm x 28.5mm.
The pickup is approximately 18mm deep in total.

Supplied with mounting screws and springs.

The pickup is suitable for surface mounting with a suitable backing ring or within a pickguard and will work well in the bridge or neck position on a bass.

Delivery will be by First Class mail and I always aim to post as soon as possible after payment has been received.

Outstanding pickup to compliment my Harley Benton RB-414 project. Its has the warmth and bite of a precision type pickup but with a little extra kick and can be dialed back with the tone knob to give a vintage vibe. Absolutely love it!

I installed one of these in a recent Ric-inspired build. Originally I’d gone for the “hot toaster” in the neck position, but I found it wasn’t quite what I wanted for that bass, so ended up ordering this to match the high gain treble pickup. I had some questions about wiring possibilities, as I like using phase and series/parallel switches, but a quick email to David (and equally quick reply) cleared those up. I also did the common magnet-flip mod as favoured by some Ric users, so when on together the pickups are now hum-cancelling – slightly tricky job, but successful!
